The Bujinkan is a worldwide organization headed by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi that promotes and teaches the combat arts of the ninja. These arts are traditional Japanese martial arts and not sports. They were created to survive life threatening situations and get away without harm. Within the Bujinkan there are 9 lineages or traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation from as far back as the 10th century. We refer to these lineages collectively as they are taught by our Soke as Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. These skills developed as they were used by warriors in Japan over many centuries as a means of survival.
At the Azusa Bujinkan Dojo we provide a synthesis of both traditional and contemporary training methods. Not all conflicts are physical and not all fights are violent. The mission of the Azusa Bujinkan Dojo is to empower students to resolve conflicts without fear and maintain good health and well-being by training the body, mind and spirit through martial arts training.
From time to time I meet people who have always been interested in ninja but have never had the opportunity to study Ninjutsu. The techniques taught at the Azusa Bujinkan Dojo are the authentic techniques of the last surviving Ninjutsu lineages. We can bring you from Beginner to Black Belt with official rank certification from Japan that is recognized world-wide. Don't wait another day to realize your dreams of real Ninjutsu training!

Azusa Bujinkan Mission Statement
It is our mission to encourage and facilitate a deeper understanding of the cultural arts of Japan.
Traditionally, the Japanese have recognized that martial arts were essential in developing individuals of strong determination and character who were capable of defending others that were unable to defend themselves. The Japanese have understood for centuries that martial skills must be balanced with skills of the “brush” which include painting and literary arts. This is based on the recognition that self-protection and self-expression are essential to humanity.
“Hold in your heart the importance of respect for your seniors, and pursue the arts of the brush and martial arts with balanced determination.”
Shinryu Masamitsu Toda
32nd Grandmaster of Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu

The Essence of the Historical Ninja
"By opening his eyes and his mind, the ninja can responsively follow the subtle seasons and reasons of heaven, changing just as change is necessary, adapting always, so that in the end there is no such thing as a surprise for a ninja" -Takamatsu Toshitsugu, 33rd Grandmaster Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu
"The enemy who stands against the laws of nature has lost his battle before he begins the fight. The first priority of the ninja was to win without fighting, and that remains the way." - Masaaki Hatsumi, 34 Grandmaster 34th Grandmaster Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu
Ninjutsu means "the art of stealth." The word "nin" however, can also mean to bear or to tolerate., and so the word encompasses the idea of enduring whatever life throws your way. Traditionally, the ninja developed a very diverse set of skills which included such arts as archery, swordsmanship, horseback riding, and meteorology to name just a few. Perhaps now the most widely known of these skills was Taijutsu or "the Art of Unarmed Combat." Our training consists mainly of training the body, mind and spirit through martial arts to become better people and adapt harmoniously in the world.
